What is the proper procedure for disputing a medical misdiagnosis and malpractice? - medical misdiagnosis
I really do not want to submit a complaint. Is it possible to have justice, and possibly damages without one?

Consult a lawyer about your options. Usually the consultations are free of charge. Good luck!
Demands and things that can not be shared. If you think you owe money, you must apply and prove their case.
My daughter is bipolar .. psychiatric problems are often stated and opinions of the person they see. If you saw another psychiatrist 4, up to 4 different views (and not). And yes, we suffered much damage if not treated properly, because they accept what he knew. By neglect, I believe that not only a different diagnosis should have a different person, but proof that the original negligence of Dr. .. not just look different.
I wrote the submission of statements from my point of view and facts, was sent to the DR, and (hopefully) part of the file to be played you. I sincerely believe that my remarks would be dumped. You can also presupposed a complaint with the state medical board (you are in the U.S.), and again .. reliable information that the doctor should know better. Unfortunately, in medicine is not so clear, I think,It should not be.
There are lawyers who moves with you for advice. Take care .. They know that some lawyers are also less able, and on television, promising things they can not fulfill.
Many states have a separate case before the court that the case for Med's see whether they have earned. Speak with a local lawyer with experience in the industry. If you do not have any economic harm, but do not waste time.
